There’s something to be said about showing up at the gym to JUST MOVE. I worked a busy shift in the ER, was stuck in sweet 5-lane+ bumper to bumper traffic after work trying to get to the gym… left work when the sun was way up in the sky and didn’t make it to the gym until the sun set… I showed up and just wanted to sit and wallow (🙋🏻♀️ Still a dramatic one over here). **insert ALL the excuses NOT to train here 🙄🙄🙄 Whine, whine, blah, blah 😑😑 ** … Then I heard everyone PRing from the gym office during one of the classes… Including our oldest athlete, at 73 years young, Louisa, DEADLIFTING 23# OVER THE @uspapower WORLD RECORD at 160# and making it look EASY 😳😳😳 (her reaction at the end is the best 🤗) and was I like, 🤔🤨 “Maybe I should just do my warm up sets… See how it goes…” 😂 . . Ended with a 138/304# Deadlift PR -yes, powerlifter Fam, I am STILL a weightlifter and, yes, I understand that everything about this deadlift is U-G-L-Y, but the point of today was that I just needed to move; to destress. I added one more day towards my goal tonight by showing up than if I went home and “wallowed” (👈🏼 I like that word today) in my own self-pity. Keep grinding Fam!! 👊🏼 I’m trying to keep up with my buddy Louisa! 😅 . . @unitedlifters #UnitedLifters #SolanoCountyWeightlifting #EarnedNotGiven #NursesThatLift #Deadlift #LikeAGirl #instagood #fitness #fit #fitfam #fitspo #girlswholift #fitgirls #trainhard #progress #girlswithmuscles #weightlifter #weightlifting #strong #instafit #gym #balance #muscle #health #California #Snatch #CleanAndJerk #OlympicLifting #StrongerTogether @uspacalifornia
